SPECTACULAR START TO CABLE WAKEBOARD WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS IN THE PHILIPPINES AND FIRST MEDALS AWARDED

 With athletes from 32 Countries arriving on site in the Philippines, the colorful nations flags were carried into the Deca Cable Wakeboard Park on Monday in perfect timing to enjoy a warm Tropical sunset. The combination of 201 Wakeboard Riders and 48 Wakeskaters from so many Countries made this World Championships Opening Ceremony a very special occasion. Native dancers added to the carnival atmosphere before the standing-room-only Press Conference provided the programme details for the many journalists and TV crews assembled on site.

With the International Olympic Committee (IOC) currently reviewing all eight new sports contending for a place in the 2020 Olympic Games, these 2012 World Cable Wakeboard Championships will have a greater significance than ever before for the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (IWWF).

14th European Championships / Africa Wakeboard Cable

 For the first time, the European Championships / Africa Cable Wakeboard be held in France in Toulouse on the lake of Sesquières from 5 to 8 September. More than 150 international riders will be present to make the show and make you vibrate to the most incredible figures blow each other!

Prize Money from IZMIT paid at 70% - ID+MA filing for bankruptcy

In September 2010 after the Cable Wakeboard European Championships in Izmit, Turkey, IWWF hosted the World Trophy, a cash prize event with $100,000, with the event agency ID+MA as a partner. The event was a great success however afterward the agency failed to pay out the prize money to the riders. The IWWF has now paid all affected riders 70% of the money from its own budget and the riders have granted permission for the IWWF to pursue recovery of the money through legal channels.
