The Councils

The Councils are formed by voluntary people full of passion for the sport.
These members take care of the developement of Cable Wakeboarding - from organising competitions like the World or European Championships, the education of judges and officials, to managing the rankings and designing the rules.
These Councils are part of a much bigger structure - the IWSF (International Waterski Federation).

The IWSF is the governing body and part of the IOC (International Olympic Committee). The IWSF has councils for every single discipline, like classical Waterskiing, Barefoot, Racing, Disabled and of course, Wakeboard.
Because Cable Wakeboarding becomes more and more popular and gains importance it has its own council besides the regular Wakeboard Council.
This is the CWWC - the Cable Wakeboard World Council.
Because different global regions have different needs the IWSF is splitted among three Regions. These are PANAM (North and South America), AA (Asia and Australia) and the EAME (Europe, Africa and Middle East).
Within these regions you will find almost the same structure as in the IWSF - different councils for all the different categories. Cable Wakeboarding, which is most popular in Europe, is managed by the ECWC - the European Cable Wakeboard Council.
