Report Ride for Peace
Cable Krk – Wakeboard klub Krk – BoardForce.net

After whole night of parting on the streets of Ljubljana, it was a time to catch the earliest and the latest morning train to Rijeka. I even give up that I will wake up Lovro, but in the last second before we left hotel, he called me and succeeded to pack his things in 2 minutes. Thanks to Anja we were right on time to catch our train.
I fall a sleep for just an hour and soon we were in Rijeka, where Lovro’s dad picked us up. Around nine, we were first at the cable, but windy weather wasn’t promising that we will have lots of people on the cable for our charity event “Ride for Peace”…
From 11 in the morning we set up things from the sponsors out, so people could try them. Outside on the cable, the organizers set up BBQ for 30Kn (but you got tons of “chevapchichi” with all sorts of salad) and 10Kn for RedBull. All collected money from this food and drink was going into “charity box”.
At 15 o’clock auction started… We collected 530 Euro for all stuff that our great sponsors provided (Reef, Oakley, Lost, Mada, Fox, Quiksilver, Roxy, O’Neill, Cable Krk, Wakeboard klub Krk, Red Bull, BoardForce) Few big faces were raising level all the time and without them we couldn’t succeed to collect so much. The best auction prize was for Oakley sunglasses and was followed with a big pink Roxy bag. Girls were grabbing for it. Tomo, who took Oakly sunglasses, for the biggest auction prize got a copy of “Wakeboarder Europe” English magazine, signed by greatest world wakeboarders… all of them wrote some kind of “message for peace” inside.
When everything was finished, sun came out and finally riders dared to get into the cold water. How it looked in the beginning it seemed that we will only have auction for peace without riding for peace… but at the end, on a big waves, couple of riders managed to make few laps for peace.
During our stay at the cable we were able to watch video from founder of organization “Peace one day”… some of us got the message why “Peace one day” or “Ride for peace”… but some didn’t, very less riders is believing that the peace all over the World is possible. I will only say… it is just one step to achieve a goal… it depends how much power we will put inside of this… but idea with riding is incredible, under neoprene you are not able to see a color of the skin, all people are the same and with so many travels I am doing, I can say that I have so much friends all over the world, maybe not best friends, but definitively people I can count on. It isn’t matter from which continents they are coming, from which country or which language they are speaking, only what matters is that we are helping each other every way we can… With this sport, at least we made one step into another world, world full of peace…
